MAIN ROADS —
DISPOSAL PROGRAM
207. Hon KATE DOUST to the parliamentary
secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to the correspondence from the minister's office dated
10 March in response to my letter sent on 29 January 2016 pertaining to the
dilapidated property at 98 Canning Highway in South Perth.
(1) What was the heritage issue that caused
a delay for Main Roads Western Australia's disposal program?
(2) What is the expected cost to repair the
dilapidated property back to a liveable standard?
(3) How many other properties are part of
Main Roads' disposal program?

I thank the member for some notice
of the question. On behalf of the parliamentary secretary representing the
Minister for Transport, I provide the following response.
(1) Clarification was required on clearances
for a property that had a potential heritage value; that is, a shingle tiled
roof. However, it was not listed on the municipal heritage inventory.
(2) The expected cost is $6 847.50.
(3) The 2015–16 disposal program involves 37 properties, of
which 13 have houses.
