(1) Is the Minister aware that the City of Nedlands was the applicant for Gordon Reid Foundation funding for a project referred to in question on notice No. 1516 and that the WA Naturalists Club was one of the community groups supportive of the application?
(2) Is the City of Nedlands considered by the Lotteries Commission to be a suitable body such that a conservation research project could be ‘community initiated and managed’ by the City so as to meet the funding guidelines of the Gordon Reid Foundation as were summarised in the answer to question on notice No. 1516?
(3) On this basis, would the Lotteries Commission consider the provision of funding for projects that are submitted under the auspices of a body, such as a local government, on behalf of one or more community conservation groups such as the WA Naturalists Club?

(3) Yes, the Lotteries Commission would consider applications for project funding submitted under the auspices of a body, such as a local government authority on the following basis: (i) Where there is more than one eligible community conservation group involved in the project, such as the WA Naturalists Club; (ii) Where there is a direct relationship between the auspicing body and the community conservation group. An application should be submitted by the community group directly if it is the only group involved in the project.
