POLICE — PRESUMPTIVE POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS
DISORDER LEGISLATION
1553. Hon PETER COLLIER to the minister representing the
Minister for Police:
I refer the minister to the
commitment that both he and the Premier made at the WA Police Union conference
in November 2023 to introduce presumptive PTSD legislation and to his response
to question without notice 848 answered on 14 August 2024 and question without
notice 1196 answered on 16 October 2024.
Why has the Labor government not
introduced presumptive PTSD legislation since making the commitment 12 months
ago?

for some notice of the question. The following answer has been provided by the
Minister for Police.
This week at the WA Police Union
conference, the Premier addressed delegates, reiterated the commitment and
importance of presumptive PTSD legislation and provided an update that it has
progressed to the drafting stages and will be introduced to Parliament under a re-elected
Cook Labor government.
