SHARKS — SERIOUS THREAT GUIDELINES
307. Hon LYNN MacLAREN to the Attorney General
representing the Minister for Fisheries:
(1) I refer to
comments attributed to a Department of Premier and Cabinet spokesperson in an
article in The West Australian on 2
April. Will the Premier or the minister provide a breakdown of how $2 million
for implementing the serious threat guidelines has been spent?
(2) Was a new or
amended contract issued to the contractor that deployed drum lines during the
trial that was run off the south west between 14 January and 30 April 2014?
(3) If yes to (2), which department
awarded the contract and why was it not advertised for tender?
(4) If yes to (2), what is its value
and what services does it cover?

Sharks Posing a Serious Threat to Public Safety'' provides for the
operating costs of a large patrol vessel based in Fremantle, smaller vessels at
regional locations and related consumable expenses.
(2) No.
(3)–(4) Not applicable.
