I refer the minister to advice provided in the Estimates Committee that the $115 million budgeted for by the Government for the Tom Price to Karratha road will provide for the sealing to all-weather standard of 122.3 kilometres of the road. In view of the fact that the road is 267 kilometres long and the Government’s commitment will therefore provide for less than half of the road to be sealed, will the $115 million meet the Government’s commitment with respect to the Tom Price to Karratha road? Hon TOM STEPHENS

I am not aware of which part of the Estimates Committee the Leader of the Opposition is referring to. It was not asked during my divisions. I will, therefore, study what was said during the estimates hearings and provide the member with a response.
