Narrogin wind farm—Shire of Narrogin planning scheme
204. Hon Neil Thomson to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Planning and Lands:
I refer to the
proposed Narrogin Wind Farm and note that the Shire of Narrogin local planning schemes
policy manual, page 36, advises that landholders and proponents refer to the
Victorian Country Fire Association's design guidelines and model requirements
for renewable energy facilities, version 4, which has a local planning policy
on wind farm setbacks.
(1) Is the minister concerned that a local
authority is required to refer to a Victorian document because we do not have
guidance from the Western Australian Planning Commission?
(2) If yes to (1), what is the minister doing
about it?
(3) When will the minister outline Western
Australia's policy on this issue, which is causing considerable anxiety in our
community?
