(a)-(e) The Western Australia Police Force advise that they work closely with Optus Stadium and the Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) on security issues. Both the WACA and Optus Stadium are both members of the Crowded Places Forums. Both organisations understand their obligations under the National Strategy for Protecting Crowded Places from terrorism. The WA Police Force undertakes an assessment of all major events to identify security issues, including the two events detailed. An Operational Order has been completed with actions to be undertaken in the event of security related contingencies. This interrelates with the venue operator’s Emergency Management Plan. Due to operational sensitivity, deployment details are not publicly disclosed by the Western Australia Police Force. This policy is in the interest of protecting police officers and those attending the venue and prevents the information from being readily available to those who wish to put lives at risk.
