The Western Australia Police Service advise:
(1) Police resources are allocated to all major sporting events, including Subiaco Oval, that take place within Western Australia. The size of the police contingent is based on perceived crowd numbers. Crowd control duties are assisted by private security personnel sourced by the AFL whilst private contractors employed by the Subiaco Council supplement traffic control.
(2) The AFL does not pay for the police contingent, however, they do supply a command post for the Operational Police Commander on the day. The command post is equipped with closed circuit television monitors that assist with deployment of police for crowd control and attending incidents that occur during the fixture.
