DEPARTMENT
OF REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND LANDS — ROYAL SHOW DISPLAY
796. Hon HELEN BULLOCK to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Regional Development:
I refer to the royalties for regions display at the Perth
Royal Show.
(1) What was the total cost, including staff costs, for
producing and staging the display?
(2) Will the
minister provide copies of all surveys conducted as part of the display; and,
if not, why not?

I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question. The minister has
provided the following response —
(1) The display at the Perth Royal Show was
in fact a Department of Regional Development and Lands display featuring
numerous RDL programs, including SuperTowns, community resource centres and
state lands. The cost was approximately $244 000. The display panels created
will be re-used at regional shows and SuperTown local government events. RDL
staff who manned the display during normal business hours were paid as normal
through their salaries. RDL staff who worked after hours accrued time off in
lieu to be used at a later date.
(2) Between 7 000
and 8 000 surveys were received. RDL is now assessing the responses.
