(1) No. (2) Not applicable. (3) The Ascot Waters Development was assessed by the Environmental Protection Authority and the then Minister for the Environment set conditions on the development which included the requirement for water quality monitoring of the waterway adjacent to the development and the Swan River. The proponents monitoring reports are available on request from the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). The DEP advised that the characteristics of this landfill are typical of Municipal landfills on the Swan Coastal Plain. A condition of the development was the placement of clay capping to those disturbed areas to reduce infiltration and leaching from the landfill. (4) No, however, the proponent, Ascot Waters Consortium, conducted groundwater monitoring at six bores located around the margins of the old landfill site for 2 years (1997-1999). (5) Copies of the proponent’s monitoring reports are available on request from the DEP.
