For the area of Western Australia bounded by Geraldton to Kalgoorlie, down to Esperance and Augusta, excluding the metropolitan area bounded by Wanneroo, Midland and Mandurah: (a) what roads did Main Roads WA upgrade/widen (including on behalf of any Local Government Authority) in the last 10 years (2010-2020); (b) how many deaths, serious injuries and crashes were recorded on each of these roads in each of the 5 years prior to upgrading/widening; and (c) how many deaths, serious injuries and crashes were recorded on each of these roads in each of the 5 years after (or for as many for which there is data) after upgrading/widening.?

(a)-(c) Main Roads has advised that the provision of this detailed information would require considerable time, which would divert staff away from their normal duties.
This request would cover hundreds of roads that Main Roads has contributed to upgrading over the course of a decade. Compiling this information is not considered to be a reasonable or appropriate use of government resources.
If the Member has a query on a specific road and location, the Minister can accommodate this request.
