I refer to the recent
state election and to plans of the WA Electoral Commission to conduct forums
for culturally or linguistically diverse or ethnic communities prior to the
election in order to reduce informality and to provide voter education.
(1) How many such
seminars were held?
(2) What were the
names of the organisations hosting these seminars?
(3) How many
organisations were invited to participate in such seminars?
(4) How was the list
of organisations compiled by the WAEC?

(2) The Edmund Rice Centre and the Australian
Arab Association (WA).
(3) Information packages, including a letter
of invitation, were sent to 46 organisations in December 2012.
(4) It was compiled from a listing of
organisations on the Office of Multicultural Interests website, plus a
directory provided by the Fremantle Multicultural Centre following a meeting
with that organisation.
