On behalf of the Minister for Agriculture and Food
representing the Minister for Housing, I thank the honourable member for some
notice of this question. The Department of Housing advises —
(1) As at 5 September
2014, there were a total of 158 vacant properties at Osprey Village. This
incorporates 24 vacant one-bedroom properties, 82 vacant two-bedroom properties
and 52 vacant three-bedroom properties.
(2) The rents
are based on income and are from $470 a week for one-bedroom properties; $740 a
week for two-bedroom properties; $950 a week for three-bedroom, one-bathroom
properties; and $1 050 a week for three-bedroom, two-bathroom properties.
(3) Since the
village opened, the rental values for priority 2 and 3 applicants have changed
to ensure that Osprey Village remains affordable and appropriate for key
workers in Hedland.
