I refer to the question I asked yesterday about the influence of Mr Burke and Mr Grill on the minister’s decision to change the composition of the proposed Board of Racing and Wagering. Have there been any meetings between Mr Burke and Mr Grill - acting as lobbyists for the Western Australian Trotting Association - with any members of the minister’s staff or others associated with drafting the legislation that was introduced into the Legislative Assembly earlier today? Hon NICK GRIFFITHS

No, to the best of my knowledge. There may have been a meeting, but I would be very surprised if there was. In my answer yesterday I made the point that Mr Grill had attempted to speak to me late last week. I did not speak to him. He telephoned my office and spoke to a member of my staff with a view to speaking to me. That was the extent of a conversation with a member of my staff. The PRESIDENT: I indicate to members that those who will get the call today are those members who did not get the call yesterday.
