(a) Communities and a number of local authorities are realising the value of a broader heritage place and therefore the Heritage Council is pursuing the establishment of precincts. The Register of Heritage Places contains a number of precincts including Victoria Quay, North Fremantle and Cossack in the Pilbara. The Heritage Council has scheduled four precincts for assessment for possible inclusion in the Register of Heritage Places for this financial year.
