I refer to the Department of Housing’s new Head Contractor Maintenance Model and the Minister’s comments that, ‘the Department has apologised to anyone who has been affected by the transition to the new system and, when appropriate, has applied credits to tenants’ rental accounts’, and I ask -
(1) How many apologies has the Department issued?
(2) How many tenants have received credit’s to their accounts, and what is the total value of these credits?
(3) Who is bearing the cost of these credits?

The Department of Housing advises:
(1) The Department, where appropriate, apologises to public housing tenants when maintenance issues are not addressed in the appropriate timeframe.
These apologies have not been recorded officially.
(2) Since 1 July 2010, 61 public housing tenancies to the amount of $12 591.88.
(3) This represents a tiny fraction of the Department of Housing's budget, and follows normal practice.
