I refer to my question No. 394 asked on Wednesday, 23 June 2010 to which you responded that if Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) felt they were hard done by then RTOs should get in touch with the department, and that the department had not heard from them, and I ask -
(1) Will you confirm that the department has heard from RTO’s who are not happy with the many delays in the call for applications for funding under the Productivity Places Program?
(2) Will you confirm that the department is, on some days, receiving between 30 and 80 calls from RTOs who are anxiously waiting on funding?

(1) Yes. Some providers have expressed concern over the delays in the call for applications. As I have stated on numerous occasions. I am advised by my Department that the Department has not withdrawn funding to RTOs that have complied with their funding agreement.
(2) A major part of the business of our department is contact with RTOs on normal activities. The number of these calls would not have reached 30-80 calls per day. Matters relating to timing of funding are regularly discussed with RTOs.
