I refer to a recent Access Economics report on the $1.2 billion Australian cruise industry, which asserts that Western Australia’s current gaming regulations are an impediment to growth in the cruise ship industry, and I ask -
(1) Has the Minister approached the Minister for Racing and Gaming about gaming regulations in Western Australian waters?
(2) If yes to (1), what advice did the Minister give to the Minister for Racing and Gaming about relaxing the restrictions on gaming on cruise ships operating in Western Australian waters?
(3) If no to (1), does the Minister plan to discuss the issue of Western Australia’s gaming regulations and their negative impact on the cruise ship industry with the Minister for Racing and Gaming before the end of this financial year?
(4) If yes to (3), what advice will the Minister give the Minister for Racing and Gaming about relaxing the restrictions on gaming on cruise ships operating in Western Australian waters?
(5) Will the Government relax the restrictions on gaming on cruise ships operating in Western Australian waters?
