minister confirm whether the appointment of Mr Wade DeCampo to the Conservation
Commission of Western Australia was conditional on any companies associated
with him not having an active freight agreement with a timber company?
(2) Were any such
conditions imposed following the appointment of Mr DeCampo?
(3) Are any such
conditions currently imposed?
(4) If any
conditions were imposed, how were these conditions conveyed to Mr DeCampo?

Mr DeCampo's appointment to the Conservation Commission of Western
Australia is in accordance with the requirements of sections 21 and 22 of the
Conservation and Land Management Act 1984, and it is unnecessary to impose
conditions to enforce these requirements. The Minister for Environment has not
sought details of Mr DeCampo's business interests beyond the
requirements of the CALM act and his current position. All members of the
commission are obliged to operate under the commission's code of
conduct, which addresses conflict of interest. The commission's code of
conduct also requires members to read and comply with the Western Australian
public sector code of ethics.
