(2) It is an eight bed facility. (3) Children usually stay in Westview Hostel whilst Departmental staff identify safe options for them to live elsewhere. In most cases children return home following the resolution of a family crisis or the release of a parent from hospital following treatment. (4) In order to meet the needs of children and their families a flexible approach is adopted. As a consequence some children remain significantly longer than others. This is necessary if a child’s situation is complex and special arrangements for their care need to be made. However, on average the majority of the children move through the Hostel within a two to three week timeframe.
