Homes delivered through the Modular Build Program are recorded as either ‘under contract’ or ‘complete’. Modular construction differs from traditional construction in that once there is a contract in place, construction can immediately commence.
Since the pilot Modular Build Program was announced in late 2021, a total of 128 modular dwellings have been contracted and are under construction, with 45 completed in the 2022-23 financial year, and a further 5 up to 31 July 2023.
Modular construction is one of several flexible build methods, including timber frame and prefabricated builds aimed at delivering housing in the current heated construction market.
