Leader of the House representing the Premier:
(1) Did anyone
from the Premier's or Treasurer's office contact Ben Morton or
anyone else in Liberal Party headquarters about the events in the days leading
up to the Treasurer commencing personal leave in February this year?
(2) If so,
when was contact made, who made contact, with whom and what was discussed?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this
question.
(1) No;
however, Mr Morton was advised in person by the Premier's chief of
staff, Brian Pontifex, on 28 February of the Treasurer's ongoing
absence. Mr Pontifex also advised Mr Morton by telephone on 9 March of the
likelihood that the Premier would be making a statement the following day in
response to media reports. On 10 March he telephoned Mr Morton to confirm that
the Premier would be making a statement.
(2) Not applicable.
