The estimated and actual sawlog volumes for jarrah and karri for coupes in which harvesting operations have been completed are shown in the attached table. Estimates of the marri sawlog within the coupes are not separately generated, but the actual (realised) marri sawlog volumes are included in the table.
Significant variation between the estimated and actual amounts for individual coupes will arise due to differences between the planned and actual area cutover, the silviculture applied, the utilisation achieved, and the relative precision of strategic inventory estimates applied at the coupe level. For example, variation to the mapped occurrence of old growth forest or the final location of fauna habitat zones can result in significant variation to the estimated log volumes.
