esperance port authority — department of environment and conservation licence
I refer to the Department of Environment and Conservation licence issued to the Esperance Port Authority on 6 January 2009. (1) When does the minister expect to make a decision on the many appeals that were lodged? In fact, I think Hon Wendy Duncan was one of the appellants in that case. (2) Why has it taken the minister so long to make a decision? (3) Is the minister aware of what length of time the licence issued to the Esperance Port Authority is for? Hon DONNA FARAGHER

I thank the member for his question. (1)-(3) The premise of the member’s question is wrong. Hon Ken Travers : Oh! Hon DONNA FARAGHER : The member is surmising that it has been sitting on my desk. I can tell the member that it has not. It is still with the Appeals Convener. Obviously, he has been going through a range of issues, and he will provide his report to me in due course. I can assure the member that when I receive that report, I will deal with it as soon as possible.
