The Western Australian Police Force advise the following:
(a) The Youth Liaison Officer (YLO) positions within the Western Australia Police Force were transitioned over to the current Youth Crime Intervention Officer (YCIO) role during 2013. The YCIO role proactively engages with Priority Prolific Offenders (PPO) and leverages government and non-government partnerships for the provision of programs and services to young offenders. As of 01 July 2018 there was a total of 52 full time YCIO positions located throughout Western Australia.
(b) YCIO position numbers throughout Western Australia for requested years were as follows:
