I refer to secondary school students undertaking vocational education and training (VET), and ask: (a) in terms of all VET delivered for secondary schools, provide details of: (i) sources of funding; (ii) programs for which the funding is used; and (iii) institutions of delivery and/or auspicing; (b) for each State Training Provider, for the years: 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013, through the Delivery and Performance Agreements: (i) what was the funding given to provide VET for secondary school students; and (ii) how many Student Curriculum hours does this funding equate to; (c) is the government planning to increase the amounts allocated to each of the State Training Providers via the Delivery and Performance Agreements, to provide VET for secondary school students in 2014; (d) for the years: 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013, what was the total funding given to Secondary Schools to provide VET for secondary school students, and what were the sources of this funding; (e) for the years: 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013, what was the funding given to each Secondary School to provide VET for secondary school students, and what were the sources of this funding; (f) according to the State Training Plan 2013–2016, the Department of Training and Workforce Development and the Department of Education, in collaboration, were to conduct a strategic review of VET in schools, and ask: (i) what were the outcomes of this review; (ii) what is the revised VET in schools policy; and (iii) will the Minister table the relevant reports; (g) given the Minister has stated that the new Western Australian Certificate of Education requires a student to achieve either an ATAR or a Certificate II: (i) has the Minister’s department identified the difficulties for the Department of Education and the training sector in achieving these outcomes; and (ii) if yes, what are the difficulties and what are the processes put in place to address them; (h) for the years 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, in both public and private schools, how many year 11 and 12 students were enrolled in: -ATAR courses, or; -general courses, or; -VET courses, or; -a combination of the above; (i) for each of the catalogues listed in (h), are the enrolment numbers expected to change in 2014, 2015 and 2016, and if so, what are the expected changes; and (j) in 2014 will any student be enrolled in general courses, or, will all students be enrolled in either ATAR courses, VET courses or a combination of both?

(f)(i) In July 2013, the Minister for Education established a cross agency working group to examine the impact of the Western Australian Certificate of Education reforms, in particular the requirement for non-ATAR students to obtain a certificate II level vocational education and training (VET) qualification, on schools and school systems with respect to their VET programs. The Department of Education Services and School Curriculum and Standards Authority (Authority) are also included on this working group. The relevant agencies will consult with the Catholic Education Office of Western Australia and Association of Independent Schools of Western Australia as required.
(ii) The work is still ongoing.
(iii) There are no reports to table.
(g-j) These questions should be referred to the Minister for Education.
