The National Centre for Vocational Education Research employer satisfaction survey is not statistically reliable at the State level due to small sample sizes, therefore, it is not possible to say definitively that employer satisfaction has declined since 2009.
The State Government, through the Department of Training and Workforce Development, is seeking to continuously improve student and employer satisfaction with the training system.
Currently there is a range of national and local strategies designed to improve outcomes for industry and the community, including:
· better targeted training to match the projected jobs in demand through the introduction of Future Skills WA;
· improving quality through the adoption of the revised National Standards for Training Providers and Regulators in Western Australia;
· reforming VET in Schools in partnership with the school sectors; and
· extensive career, workforce development and apprenticeship support services.
