I refer to page 40 of the 2017 Annual Report for the Department of Agriculture and Food WA specifically, the planned sale of the Department’s Perth headquarters under the Government’s Land Asset Sale Program, and I ask: (a) When are Perth headquarters proposed to be sold; (b) Where will the proceeds from the sale go; (c) Are the proceeds, all or part of, committed to a new headquarters; and (d) Where and when will the new headquarters be established?

(a) The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development’s South Perth headquarters site was declared surplus to Government requirements by the previous Government and has been listed as being prepared for disposal. No timeframe has been set down for the sale of the site.
The Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage works closely with all relevant Government agencies to ensure properties are appropriately deconstrained prior to sale and taking into consideration each property's best use within its surrounding area.
The sale process will vary from one property to another with some sites requiring more work than others in order to be ready for the property market. In some instances, that process can take up to ten years.
