The Western Australia Police Force advise:
(a) 661 Police Officers as at 16 August 2018.
(b) 660 Police Officers as at 16 August 2018.
Firearms and Tasers are only carried and used by Police Officers who have successfully completed the relevant WA Police Force approved and authorised training. This is in accordance with WA Police Force policy.
The numbers quoted include Police Officers who are deployed to non-operational units, in non-operational positions or on leave.
