PICKERING BROOK —
METROPOLITAN REGION SCHEME AMENDMENT
1415. Hon MARTIN ALDRIDGE to the minister representing the
Minister for Planning:
I refer to the proposal to develop
the Pickering Brook town site.
(1) Does the minister receive a copy of the draft
agenda for the WA Planning Commission's regular monthly meetings?
(2) Can the minister
confirm that the WA Planning Commission has listed the proposed scheme
amendment for Pickering Brook on these agendas one or more times?
(3) Has the
minister or his office requested that the item be removed from the draft agenda
one or more times?
(4) If yes to
(2) or (3), can the minister please list the dates that the scheme was proposed
to be considered and then removed from consideration?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The following response has been provided by the
Minister for Planning.
(1)–(2) No. The minister has no involvement in setting
agendas. That is a matter for the independent Western Australian
Planning Commission. The metropolitan region scheme amendment request remains
under assessment as the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage continues to
work through a number of significant constraints, including bushfire risk.
(3) No.
(4) Not applicable.
