I thank the member
for some notice of the question. The following answer has been provided to me
by the Minister for Emergency Services.
The Department of
Fire and Emergency Services advises the following.
On September 2025,
DFES made an offer to the shire under the DRFAWA of almost $5 million to
support the reconstruction of the first five of 20 damaged roads as identified
by the shire due to Severe Tropical Cyclone Zelia. This offer included an
advance payment of 75%, or $3.7 million, to assist with the shire's cash flow.
To date, the shire has not accepted the offer.
