In relation to the Minister’s media statement on 19 November 2010 that staff from the State Records Office (SRO) were assisting the Town of Claremont and that the SRO holds records of the Town prior to 1980, I ask:
(a) will the Minister please advise which Western Australian local governments have completed business continuity, disaster recovery and/or vital records plans; and
(b) does the SRO have a copy of these plans?

(a) All local government organisations in Western Australia have approved Recordkeeping Plans (RKPs). A component of the RKPs is a Disaster Recovery Plan (aka Business Continuity Plan), which also identifies Vital Records.
(b) The SRO does have a copy of all RKPs but not necessarily all Disaster Recovery Plans.
