(g) the 2003-04 budget was accompanied by an advertising campaign urging the community to view the budget information material. Prior to the budget and in the interests of accountability, the Treasurer advised the House that the budget information campaign would cost in the order of $170 000. I am now able to advise that the total costs were $144,936.99. For the member’s information, this is considerably less than what the Court Government appears to have spent; $184, 171 in 1997-98, $168, 170 in 1998-99, $214 137 in 1999-2000 and $164 359 in 2000-01. (h) $19,569.10 (i) $85,151.36 (j) $23,721.44 plus production of $5,565.53 ($29,286.97) (k) 119,275.68 (l) The total cost was $42,860 of which the Government contributed $24,860 of the total cost. (m) All advertising campaigns approved in accordance with Premier’s Circular 2002/08 (issued May 7 2002) are entered into a Register of Approved Advertising Campaigns. A copy of the Register, containing the information is attached as requested. [See paper No. ] (n) There are currently more than 230 points from which Government advertising is booked. To ask for information about each and every campaign for each and every one of these advertising contact points for the periods in question, would require an unreasonable diversion of Departmental human resources. I am not prepared to allocate the resources required to provide this information. If, however, the member has a specific request regarding further costs associated with advertising I would be prepared to consider the member’s request.
