Restoration Grants assist owners meet the gap between the cost of earthquake repairs and any insurance claim on a matched funding basis. Owners were also eligible to seek reimbursement of any insurance excess where the cost of repairs were fully covered by insurance.
Conservation grants were offered as part of a contestable grants round to assist owners with conservation works, including professional heritage and engineering advice as required, with a 20% owner contribution.
