DOMESTIC VIOLENCE REVIEW BOARD
I refer to the answer to question without notice 898 relating to the establishment of a domestic violence review board. (1) What action has been taken to date by the Ombudsman in relation to the establishment of a fatality review process? (2) Can the minister advise when the arrangements for the review process will be finalised? Hon ROBYN McSWEENEY

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this question. (1) I am very pleased to say that the Ombudsman has agreed to take responsibility for the establishment of the family and domestic violence fatality review process. A liaison process with the Department for Child Protection has been established. (2) No. However, a commencement date in mid-2012 is expected. As I have said previously in this place, the number of women killed by domestic homicide since 2000 is horrific, and it is this government that will put in a fatality review process.
