511. Hon DONNA FARAGHER to the Minister for Education and
Training:
I refer to the School Curriculum and
Standards Authority's special examination provisions policy for
Australian tertiary admission rank course examinations.
(1) Is this policy currently being
reviewed by the authority?
(2) If yes —
(a) when did the review commence and
what is the review's terms of reference;
(b) who is being consulted as part of
the review; and
(c) when is the review expected to be
completed?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of this question.
(1) Yes.
(2) (a) The review commenced on 1 March 2019. The terms of
reference are to undertake an independent review of the special provisions
process and considerations provided by the School Curriculum and
Standards Authority to enable all Western Australian senior secondary students
to have opportunities for success in completing their senior secondary studies.
The report will document the current special provision arrangements in place
for Western Australian senior secondary students, the current special provision
arrangements in place in other Australian jurisdictions, and recommendations to
SCSA regarding any changes to the special provision arrangements that are
currently in place to ensure that Western Australia adopts best practice.
(b) Representatives
of the following organisations have been invited to participate in consultations. Madam President, it is a very long list, so
I seek leave to have that part of the answer incorporated into Hansard .
