On behalf of the Minister for Police, I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) Phase 1 of the service definition and
resource model identified that 149.7 full-time equivalent positions presently
performed by sworn officers could be performed by police staff. No final
decisions have been made for phase 2 of the SDRM, which are due to be finalised
by mid-November.
(2) Phase 1 of the SDRM related to corporate
services, thus all the positions are from those areas and are based in the
Perth metropolitan area. The identified positions are from the business technology,
human resources, legal services, media and corporate communications,
professional development, professional standards, communications division and
strategy and performance portfolios. WA Police is not able to provide detailed
information on the classification of sworn positions in the time available to
respond to this question.
(3) Intelligence analyst positions were
reviewed as part of phase 2. No final decisions have been made for phase 2 of
the SDRM, which is due to be finalised by mid-November.
