I refer to the minister’s announcement on 19 April 2004 of a $20 million allocation to open 338 extra hospital beds. (1) How many extra beds have been opened under this plan at the following hospitals; (a) Royal Perth Hospital; (b) Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital; (c) Fremantle Hospital; (d) Rockingham-Kwinana District Hospital; (e) Armadale-Kelmscott Memorial Hospital; (f) Swan District Hospital; (g) Osborne Park Hospital; (h) Joondalup Health Campus; (i) Bentley Hospital; and (j) Kalamunda District Community Hospital? (1) (a) Royal Perth Hospital, 51, at Wellington Street Campus and 25 at Shenton Park Campus; (b) Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, 52; (c) Fremantle Hospital, 29; (d) Rockingham-Kwinana District Hospital, five; (e) Armadale-Kelmscott Memorial Hospital, 19 at AKMH and four at Galliers hospital; (f) Swan District Hospital, 10; (g) Osborne Park Hospital, 12; (h) Joondalup Health Campus, 54; (i) Bentley Hospital, 27; and (j) Kalamunda District Community Hospital, six. That is a total of 294 additional beds. The target was 332, not 338 as stated in the question.
