CORONAVIRUS —
TESTING
209. Hon PETER COLLIER to
the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Health:
I think the minister needs to
clarify that answer to the public, because that is not what he said yesterday.
I refer to the shortage of reagent
necessary for testing for COVID-19.
(1) What is the
total number of tests that can be completed in Western Australia based on
existing stocks of test kits?
(2) When are
additional test kits expected to arrive in Western Australia, and how many
tests will these additional resources provide?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. I am advised of the following.
(1) PathWest has had a substantial replenishment of
COVID-19 testing materials, which will meet the short- term needs of Western
Australia.
(2) PathWest is expecting a further
delivery of supplies this week.
