Dr. Constable's question seeks data on requests for new or upgraded school libraries/resource centres from 1999-2005. The response indicates data is only readily available from 2004 onwards due to a process change in 2003, with data for 2004-2006 tabled.

These priorities are forwarded to the Department of Education and Training's Capital Programs Branch by 30 April each year for assessment on a state-wide basis. This process was adopted in 2003. As a consequence information regarding requests for new or upgraded library/resource centres between 1999 and 2003 is not readily available.
