AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) (a) A report on the control of the fires during Western
Australia's 2019–20 high threat period, including a timetable
of events, is currently underway as part of a comprehensive remote firefighting
after action review to examine the incidents of the season. The Stirling Range
fire, which started on 26 December 2019, will be included in this review. The
report is being compiled in partnership with the Department of Biodiversity,
Conservation and Attractions.
(b)–(c) The
Department of Fire and Emergency Services does not perform activity-based
costing per incident. However, additional costs incurred above DFES's
base budget for major incidents are recorded by hazard type such as bushfire.
Given this, readily identifiable costs to date for the Stirling Range over and
above DFES's base budget are provided. This information is in tabular form. It lists the account category, the amount,
the total DBCA cost and the total cost. I seek leave to have this
incorporated into Hansard .
