I am advised by the Department of Education as follows:
Almost $400 000 of State Funding has been spent maintaining and improving Yale Primary School over the last three and half years, including almost $290 000 on faults, over $27 000 on routine maintenance and $18 500 installing a transportable classroom. A further $38 313 was provided through the Federal
National Solar Schools
program and $52 368 through the Federal
Investing in our Schools
program.
Major works include replacement of carpet and vinyl in 2010/2011 at a cost of over $55 000.
Maintenance spending for 2009, 2010 and 2011 is as follows:
2009 - $77 902
2010 - $96 994
2011 - $173 255
(a)-(g) Funding is provided as and when required to address urgent maintenance and minor works such as faults, occupational safety and health matters, routine maintenance and universal access works.
Restoration maintenance is prioritised and addressed as funding allows. Examples of restoration maintenance include carpet replacement, re-sealing hard play areas and painting. Schools also receive funding within the School Grant to undertake minor works considered a priority by the school.
