PREPRIMARY EDUCATION — DISABILITY
SUPPORT
640. Hon
ALISON XAMON to the Minister for Education:
I refer to my question without notice 591 regarding
guaranteed places for preprimary-aged children at their local school.
(1) Does the
minister's answer to question without notice 591 mean that the minister
has now given an undertaking that preprimary-aged children eligible for a place
in an education support facility will be guaranteed a place at their local
education support facility for 2013?
(2) If no, why not?
(3) If yes to (l), has this decision
been communicated to all principals and relevant parents?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of this question.
(1) Yes.
(2) Not applicable.
(3) Yes. An
Ed-e-Mail was sent to all public school principals on 24 August 2012. When a
parent of a child with an eligible disability—based on schools plus
eligibility criteria—seeks to enrol at an education support centre or
education support school, the principal will apply the same enrolment and
resourcing procedures that are currently in place for primary-aged students.
