STANDING COMMITTEE ON
PROCEDURE AND PRIVILEGES —FIFTY-FIFTH REPORT — DARREN FOSTER
636. Mr
Z.R.F. KIRKUP to the Premier:
I refer to the damning findings of
the Standing Committee on Procedure and Privileges report tabled today in the
Legislative Council.
Is the Premier aware of the findings
in the executive summary of an extremely serious intentional breach of
parliamentary privilege by Mr Darren Foster, the director general of the
Department of the Premier and Cabinet, despite being warned repeatedly and in
no uncertain terms in writing by the PPC that he personally, and other officers
of the executive, risked being in contempt of Parliament? With this in mind,
how can the Premier continue to defend this unprecedented behaviour?

I have just been reading the document. I have just read that
part of the executive summary of the report. I just want to say this: I commend Mr Foster on what he has
done. He has cooperated with the Corruption and Crime Commission against
potentially corrupt action by former members of Parliament. I commend what he
has done. I think the member for Dawesville needs to read the report a little
bit more deeply before he comes in here defending potentially corrupt action by
former members of Parliament.
