I refer to damage to the Boulder Ex-servicemen’s Memorial Club (1) Is the minister aware that there are two separate buildings located at 87 Piesse Street, Boulder? (2) Can the minister confirm that Boulder Ex-servicemen’s Memorial Club is eligible for assistance through the state governments Goldfields earthquake restoration fund even though the building is not heritage listed or on the list published on the Heritage Council of Western Australia’s website? (3) If yes, how soon will assistance be forthcoming to the Boulder Ex-servicemen’s Memorial Club? (2) Yes; 87 Piesse Street, Boulder is included on the list of places eligible for assistance under the Goldfields earthquake restoration fund published on the Heritage Council’s website. (3) The Boulder Ex-servicemen’s Memorial Club registered its interests in the state Governments Goldfields earthquake restoration fund on 17 September 2010. The Office of Heritage contacted the Boulder Ex-servicemen’s Memorial Club on 22 September to acknowledge the club’s registration and to discuss funding opportunities. The Boulder Ex-servicemen’s Memorial Club is working with its insurance company on its claim for repairs to the building. Once the outcome of this is known, the Office of Heritage will assist the club with an application for funding from the Goldfields earthquake restoration fund if further financial help in returning the building to its pre-earthquake condition is required.
