I refer to the Coroners Court, and I ask: (a) how many cases are currently with the Coroners Court awaiting processing; and (b) of the cases with the Coroners Court, how many have been waiting: (i) less than six months; (ii) between six and 12 months; (iii) between 12 and 18 months; (iv) between 18 and 24 months; and (v) more than 24 months?

All available data that can be extracted from the Coroner's information systems has been used to provide the response below.
(a) As at 30 June 2015 the number of coronial cases on hand were 2,027.
Of the cases on hand (2,027) 17.5% (355 cases) were in backlog (cases over 12 months old), the remaining cases (1,672 cases) were under 12 months old.
(b) The following tables provide a breakdown of the backlog cases and inquest cases as at 30 June 2015:
