2. Government has committed to undertake a review of the regional road network west of Kwinana Freeway in the South West Corridor. The outcome of this review may identify other changes to the road network which could also involve amendments to the MRS. Therefore it is proposed to wait until the broader study is complete prior to initiating an amendment to the MRS. Under the Metropolitan Region Town Planning Scheme Act, a major amendment to the Metropolitan Region Scheme is not tabled in Parliament until the final stages of the amendment process, following consideration for environmental review, Ministerial scrutiny and public consultation.

1. Main Roads, in consultation with key stakeholders, is preparing a report documenting the agreed re-alignment of the planned Fremantle-Rockingham Highway reservation to avoid the Beeliar wetland in Cockburn. The report will then be submitted to the WA Planning Commission for inclusion in a future amendment to the MRS.
