WORLD HERITAGE LISTING
1276. Hon ROBIN CHAPPLE to the Minister for Environment:
I refer to the minister's
response to petition 74 about the protection of rock art in Murujuga.
(1) Will the
minister provide the following details for the interagency task force and
heritage committee that will assist in the preparation of the World Heritage
listing nomination —
(a) when the task force and committee
will be established;
(b) where and when it will meet; and
(c) how the members will be chosen?
(2) If not, why not?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) (a) The interagency task force and heritage committee
are planned to be established in December 2018.
(b) It is
proposed that the interagency committee will meet monthly commencing December 2018 and the heritage committee will meet
quarterly commencing early 2019 . These
meetings will likely take place on country in Murujuga or in Perth.
(c) The
composition of the committees has been developed upon the advice and
recommendation of the Murujuga Aboriginal Corporation and discussion with
relevant state and commonwealth government agencies. The committee
representatives will be approved by me prior to establishment.
(2) Not applicable.
