I refer to
the Western Australian public hospital activity data relating to country beds and inpatient mental health unit beds data located at http://www.health.wa.gov.au/EmergencyActivity/beds/countrymhealth.cfm , and I ask: (a) in a response provided by the Minister for Health on the 11
June 2014 to questions during Estimates Hearings, it was stated the data had not
been updated due to an administrative error and that the data would be updated
by the end of June 2014. Can the Minister please advise why it has still
not been updated since 30 June 2012; (b) will the Minister advise when up-to-date data will be released; and (c) will the Minister commit to providing regular updates of this
information for public review?

(a) The data relating to country beds and inpatient mental health bed numbers was not updated due to an administrative oversight, a process has now been implemented to ensure this does not reoccur.
(b) Up to date data (as at the end of September 2016) is now available on the WA Health website. There is a net increase of 34 beds (31 sameday, three overnight) as at the end of September 2016 compared to June 2012.
(c) The data will be reviewed quarterly and published on the WA Health website.
