METRONET — BRANDING
666. Mr R.S. LOVE to the Minister for Transport:
I have a supplementary question. Why
will the minister not be up-front and simply reveal the total cost of this
rebrand to the Western Australian taxpayer?
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : Order, please!

As
I have said at a number of press conferences, this will be rolled out as part
of our normal budget as we build new stations.
We have 20 new stations being opened in the next 18 months. We will do it over
the next four to six years . There is no rush. I was hoping the Leader of
the Opposition would ask another question, too, because I have some more material, but I will save that for another
day. As I said, we are very proud of delivering Metronet. We promised to
deliver it and we are delivering it. We promised something and we delivered it.
How about that for something? We promised to build the Ellenbrook rail line,
and we are delivering it. We promised to build the Byford extension, and we are
delivering it. We promised to build the Thornlie–Cockburn Link, and we
are delivering it. We promised the Yanchep rail line, and we have delivered it.
We promised the rebuild of Bayswater station, and we have done it. We promised
level crossing removals, and we are doing them. We promised to build railcars
here, and we have done it. We have delivered our commitments.
Dr D.J. Honey interjected.
The SPEAKER : Order, please.
Please do not open up a new front.
Several members interjected.
Ms R. SAFFIOTI : Honestly! I looked
at the member for Cottesloe and I thought about my Halloween decorations in my
front yard.
Mr R.S. Love interjected.
The SPEAKER : Order, please.
Ms R. SAFFIOTI : We have
delivered what we said we would do, and we are very proud of it.
